A Day in the Life

The MiniMed Senior Quality Manager – Global Distribution at Minimed Netherlands is responsible for defining, overseeing, and continuously improving quality operations and processes across global distribution channels, including internal distribution centers, distribution partners, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. This role ensures that all distribution activities meet Medtronic’s high standards for quality and compliance and acts as a key liaison with external partners to address quality events and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Quality Operations & External Partnerships: Define, implement, and maintain quality operation requirements and processes with distribution partners and 3PL providers; ensure alignment with Medtronic standards and all applicable regulatory requirements; act as the primary liaison with external distribution centers to manage and resolve quality events with timely communication and effective corrective actions
  • Internal Distribution Center Quality Oversight: Provide full oversight for internal distribution center quality activities, including continuous monitoring, reporting, trend analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational performance and compliance
  • Quality Systems, Compliance, and Guidance: Develop and maintain quality programs, systems, processes, and procedures; interpret and provide expert guidance on internal policies, regulatory and governmental requirements, and quality standards to assure ongoing compliance across all distribution operations
  • Audits, Inspections, and Documentation: Lead preparation for internal and external audits and inspections; manage timely resolution of audit findings; liaise with auditing bodies; prepare and submit required reports and documentation (e.g., Corrective and Preventive Actions), ensuring accurate and compliant communication with internal and external stakeholder
  • Quality Assurance Governance & Global Standardization: Ensure all quality assurance programs and policies are routinely reviewed, updated, and aligned with best practices and regulatory changes; facilitate global adoption of uniform quality standards and practices to support consistency, operational excellence, and the company’s global mission
  • People Leadership & Organizational Development: Lead and manage a large team including experienced professionals and managers; translate departmental strategy into actionable business plans; set performance goals, conduct evaluations, oversee talent development, engagement, and inclusion; authorize hiring, promotions, rewards, and key talent decisions
  • Strategic Impact, Innovation, and Cross-Functional Influence: Operate with significant autonomy to interpret objectives and implement business plans; initiate and lead high-impact programs/projects that influence business operations and resource allocation (potentially including budget or P&L accountability); develop new objectives, policies, and standards; address complex, undefined problems through detailed analysis; and influence internal/external customers, partners, and cross-functional teams across geographies to achieve business results

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent as defined by 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)); advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role; or advanced degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Proven expertise in distribution quality operations, including experience with third-party logistics and external distribution partners
  • Broad management knowledge and mastery of quality systems, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive global initiatives
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
