Position Summary

As the Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas, you'll lead a team of accounting professionals at our prestigious Williams Tower location. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workforce planning and career development activities for your accounting team, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Hold team members to rigorous standards, policies, procedures, and processes for all accounting work.
  • Ensure robust financial accounting controls and the integrity of financial records through collaborative efforts.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, standards, and processes compliant with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop financial analysis and reporting deliverables.
  • Lead complex projects, including execution improvements and data automation initiatives.
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of GAAP and FERC financial statements.
  • Conduct in-depth research on GAAP and FERC technical accounting issues and present findings.
  • Collaborate on rate filings, FERC matters, and financial statement audits.
  • Drive adherence to GAAP, FERC, and SOX policies across all operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance team's success.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, plus a minimum of eight (8) years of multifaceted accounting experience.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
  • Extensive background in financial reporting, with strong technical accounting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, prioritizing safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP and Workiva systems.
