Job Description

Role Summary

Leads and supervises the Molding / Laser Printing / Assembly departments, managing daily production to meet quality and output targets. Responsible for team development, enforcing safety and quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring efficient resource coordination for smooth shift operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive comprehensive handover from the previous shift leader to ensure smooth transition and continuity.

• Execute production plans by managing manpower, raw materials, child parts, and equipment to meet production demand efficiently.

• Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Molding, Printing, and Assembly line operations.

• Monitor daily production processes, investigate issues, authorize corrective actions, and ensure timely implementation.

• Participate in safety investigations and establish Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to prevent recurrence.

• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations.

• Supervise, guide, and provide constructive feedback to operators and Team Leaders to maintain high performance.

• Recruit, develop, and upskill a diverse team of technicians / Operators through targeted training aligned with business needs.

• Maintain accurate production documentation including hourly and shift reports, overtime, and absenteeism records.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

• Manage the 4Ms: Manpower, Machine, Material, and Method to optimize production output.

• Stay updated on company policies, procedures, and participate in relevant training and meetings.

• Control production costs, minimize waste, and ensure timely delivery of quality products.

• Lead new product trial productions and contribute to automation and technical transformation projects to improve efficiency and reduce defects.

• Collaborate closely with the Quality department to maintain and improve product quality during shifts.

• Oversee talent management activities including compensation planning, goal setting, performance evaluation, feedback, and development plans.

• Allocate and manage resources (labor and materials) effectively to meet production requirements.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure achievement of production and quality goals.

• Organize and coordinate production activities to meet planning targets set by the Production Planning & Control (PPC) team.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with the 5S program.

• Identify and address quality deviations promptly, ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000/14000).

• Demonstrate expertise in molding process parameters, plastics, molding dies, master batches, and additives.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and machinery used in the organization.

• Skilled in mold handling, lifting, and loading operations.

• Ability to identify defects, understand their impact, and visualize final product quality.

• Familiarity with SAP and MES systems for production tracking and reporting.

• Promote and enforce 5S, Kaizen, and safety practices within the team.

• Exhibit strong team management and leadership skills.

Education and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Plastic Processing (PGD-PPT, DPT from CIPET)

 Minimum 10+ years of experience in a Plastic Injection Molding Industry is required.
