Job Description

Role Summary

The Supervisor / Team Leader – Tech Operations (Molding) oversees molding machine operations to meet production and quality targets. They lead and support operators, coordinate resources, ensure maintenance and safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement for efficient and safe production.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate molding machines to produce livestock identification tags according to SOPs, ensuring products meet engineering and customer requirements.

• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to maintain optimal performance and product quality.

• Ensure all raw materials, equipment, molds, colors, fixtures, and components are staged and available for assigned operations, including material issuance for auto feeders.

• Receive detailed handover from the previous shift leader covering productivity, safety, quality, breakdowns, rejections, and other operational concerns; verify and validate reported issues with proper documentation and follow-up.

• Lead, supervise, and support operators during shifts to ensure adherence to production plans, quality standards, and safety protocols.

• Assign tasks, monitor operator performance, provide coaching, and conduct buddy system training to develop team skills and operational readiness.

• Oversee mold maintenance and ensure preventive maintenance (PM) is performed as per schedule.

• Execute production plans and ensure shift output targets are met without compromising quality.

• Coordinate with Quality to obtain initial and in-process production clearances.

• Monitor production processes to detect malfunctions or quality deviations and take prompt corrective actions, including temporary shutdowns if necessary.

• Act as the primary liaison with Maintenance during breakdowns to ensure rapid resolution and minimize downtime.

• Oversee autonomous maintenance activities by operators, ensuring adherence to cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and tightening schedules.

• Maintain accurate shift records including production output, quality issues, safety incidents, and maintenance activities.

• Facilitate communication between operators, supervisors, maintenance, EHS, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.

• Enforce compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures, promoting a culture of safety and quality awareness.

• Resolve interpersonal and operational issues within the team promptly; escalate when necessary to maintain smooth workflow.

• Foster and maintain a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.

• Maintain documentation and complete other duties as assigned.

• Review SAP order execution and MES output with the shift leader and provide feedback.

Education and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Plastic Processing (PGD-PPT, DPT from CIPET)

 Minimum Four (6) years of experience in a Plastic Injection Molding Industry is required; demonstrated. Only Understanding of injection molding technology candidate preferred.
