This role is crucial for managing payroll taxes and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting background and proficiency in payroll calculation. They should have a natural curiosity and analytical mindset, with a drive to improve and simplify processes.Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely payroll accounting, identifying and resolving any discrepancies, and proactively addressing potential issues. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be vital to your success in this role.As a key member of our high-performing finance/global payroll team, you will be based in Manila, and collaborate with colleagues across different regions and time zones. The right candidate will be flexible and adaptable, with a dedication to delivering top-quality service to our stakeholders.Responsibilities:Oversee the entire accounting process related to payroll for (some) EMEA countriesPartner with cross-functional colleagues across finance, tax, and IT organizations, providing payroll and accounting guidancePrepare accrual and liability account reconciliationsPartner with the global teams to ensure appropriate cross-charging Conduct month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter variance analysisFacilitate audits by providing necessary records and documentation to auditorsIdentify potential issues proactively and take corrective measuresReconcile and post ad-hoc bank transactionsSimplify and improve payroll and accounting processesManage month-end closing tasks, including posting journal entriesStay updated on payroll laws and regulations to ensure complianceMonitor the completion of the payroll settlement to the bank confirmationContribute to developing a world-class global payroll process and act as a resource for colleagues with less experienceWork in a hybrid setting (3 days onsite per week) with a collaborative team atmosphereQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or 8+ years of Payroll Accounting experienceAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced knowledge of Excel and Google products (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail), and WorkdayStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels, including upper managementInclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates.
