Netflix Animation Studios is seeking Lighting Artists at all levels who can blend artistic with technical expertise to craft visually stunning work for our stories.What You’ll Do:Navigate from shot lighting to final lighting, meeting project deadlines and milestones.Work closely with Supervisors and Leads to design and create lighting for scenes of varying complexity.Collaborate closely with Lighting Leads and team members to modify and adapt existing lighting rigs.Tackle visual challenges using our inhouse Lighting Tools and contribute to testing new tool developmentsUse Nuke to composite separate render layers into a final image that aligns with the vision of the Director, Production Designer, and Visual Effects Supervisor.Communicate with Lighting Lead and Production about current shot progress and any updates.Collaborate with grace, humility, inclusion, and open-mindedness.What You’ll Need:Creatively strong and a quick learner, adept at grasping the film's visual requirements, lighting philosophy, and techniques, all while maintaining a keen eye for artistic detail.Solid experience in lighting for animated feature films, live-action feature films or animated TV series.Comprehensive knowledge of cinematography and the visual artistic elements of animated films.Experienced with industry-standard lighting tools (preferably node based such as Katana or Houdini) Proficient using NukeExceptional organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks efficiently under pressure.Excellent communicator with a knack for collaboration and knowledge sharing. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $80K-$150K CAD.
