About This Role

The Country Manager, Japan (Sales) leads New Relic's commercial success in Japan, owning strategy for growth, revenue, partner acceleration, and market presence. Reporting to the SVP APJ, this role involves building high-performing sales teams, cultivating executive relationships, and adapting global strategies to the local market. Ideal candidates bring proven sales leadership, deep Japan market expertise, and technical knowledge in observability.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a Japan-specific go-to-market strategy including account segmentation, territory planning, and adapting sales tactics to local customers
  • Drive new customer acquisition, pipeline development, and platform expansion across all segments to meet sales targets and ARR goals
  • Lead, build, coach, and inspire high-performing sales teams fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence
  • Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives at key accounts to drive strategic long-term partnerships
  • Partner with sales operations, marketing, customer success, and channel teams to optimize sales efficiency, forecast accuracy, and deal velocity
  • Own local P&L elements related to sales, provide accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and visibility to APJ leadership
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer success, and operations to build targeted strategies and optimize business processes for the Japanese market
  • Accelerate partner ecosystem through strategic focus partners, joint sales, and marketing initiatives

  • Proven sales leadership with history of leading technology sales organization in Japan market achieving sustainable revenue growth
  • Strong revenue track record building and scaling sales organizations with expertise in new customer acquisition and account expansion
  • Deep understanding of Japanese business culture, decision-making processes, buying behaviors, and established relationships in enterprise technology sector
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English fluency
  • Strong technical acumen in cloud computing, infrastructure monitoring, and observability technologies
