About This Role

The Strategic Finance Manager at New Relic supports long-range planning, investment decisions, and corporate development initiatives, acting as an internal consultant to senior executives including the CFO. This role involves building complex financial models, evaluating M&A opportunities, and providing data-driven insights to influence company strategy. The position requires high analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with development and tracking of multi-year Strategic Long Range Plan, monitoring progress and driving follow-ups with stakeholders
  • Conduct regular reviews of business performance and strategic alignment against the long range plan
  • Track and analyze key business/financial KPIs to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Evaluate and pressure test investment decisions for strategic capital allocation on growth initiatives
  • Perform quantitative evaluation of strategic growth initiatives including new markets and business lines
  • Support end-to-end M&A transaction process from ideation to integration, including diligence and synergy analysis
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling, valuation analyses, and build compelling business cases for CFO review
  • Support capital markets activities and Treasury team on debt transactions as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of work experience in financial analysis and full M&A process lifecycle
  • At least 3 years in FP&A or corporate development role inside a company and/or software-focused private equity
  • Strong financial, research, and analytical skills to extract insights and make recommendations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and proactively project manage multiple workstreams

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience in strategy/management consulting or investment banking
  • Track record of creating detailed complex financial models and executive presentations
