As the Product Owner you will be responsible for our suite of customer facing products, developing and delivering the implementation of changes to our external Customer platforms and internal system to support the business strategy and operational processes.
This role involves executing the technical development in line with the vision, strategy, and product development to deliver exceptional value to customers and stakeholders. Leveraging Voice of Customer feedback, industry trends and to innovate our solutions and enhance the user experience and support business growth.
As a Product Owner, the key responsibilities include defining product release plans, managing backlogs, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
End-to-End Go-to-Market Process: Responsible for the end-to-end go-to-market process for product/project delivery. Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
Vision and Direction: Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements.
Backlog Management: Plan and prioritize the product feature backlog and development for the product.
Value Assessment and Prioritization: Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product strategy.
Iteration Planning: Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of user stories.
Acceptance Criteria and Sprint Goals: Define acceptance criteria, set sprint goals, and plan releases and upgrades.
Strategic Alignment: Work with other Product Managers/Owners to align on strategy, ensuring seamless products and coordinated deliveries.
Voice of Customer (VoC): Use a VoC-led approach to development.
Collaboration with Product Management: Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI.
Impediment Mitigation: Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting the successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
Market and User Analysis: Research and analyze the market, users, and roadmap for the product.
Reporting: Provide regular and clear reporting to the business and senior leaders.
Competitive Analysis: Follow competitors and the industry.
Agile/Scrum Best Practices: Keep abreast of Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
User Preferences and Feedback: Analyze preferences and requests of end users.
Agile Methodology Refinement: Refine our agile methodology based on results and client feedback.
Team Support: Provide support to the team using a collaborative style and leading by example; personifying Scrum and Agile.
Project Delivery Management: Ensure successful project delivery by managing story tickets through the Agile process.
Collaboration with Business Analysts and Project Managers: Work closely with Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure end-to-end accountability is in place for the delivery of project goals.
Impediment Removal: Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Trust and Safety: Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
Priority Management: Ensure work is completed according to business priority.
Communication: Communicate internally and externally, improving transparency, and radiating information, facilitating discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution as required.
Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management
In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including: building customer rapport and running workshops.
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Experience in online grocery/FMCG is desirable
An understanding of consumer content and/or online retail industry and related technologies is desirable
The ability to quickly grasp a clear understanding of a customer’s needs and translate them to a set of requirements and well-planned solution deliverables.
The ability to understand and dive into the details of a solution
Creative thinker with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
