Job Description

Collaborating with and providing strategic counseling to law department colleagues, business partners, and management on a wide range of complex IP issues Applying expertise in government contract IP matters, commercial transactions, software and other IP licensing, managing global patent and trademark portfolios, protecting information, and managing IP enforcement actions, and managing outside counsel Develop understanding of Company and Sector's business, products and technologies and software Providing thought leadership, driving development and implementation of enterprise-level strategic IP initiatives Monitoring developments in policy, legal and regulatory requirements in IP and advising leadership and business partners on best practices Developing and conducting enterprise-wide training on IP topics Ability to provide accurate, timely, and pragmatic advice Ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment, with the ability to engage and motivate others through thought leadership Juris Doctor degree and Bachelor's degree in an aerospace-related science or engineering field Active state bar membership and registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office At least 8 years' IP experience in a law firm, government, or as in-house counsel Experience in IP-related transactions and negotiations, and/or protecting and enforcing IP rights including patents, trade secrets, data, software, trademarks, and copyrights Experience working closely with other lawyers, technologists and business leaders on IP issues U.S. citizenship required. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance. Significant experience with U.S. government contract IP regulations (FAR and DFARS) and complex issues relating to technical data and computer software Experience developing and managing global IP portfolios Active DoD Secret level security clearance
