Responsibilities include developing and implementing injury prevention programs, developing compliance strategies for new and existing health and safety regulations and/or company policies, and supporting programs in a rapidly evolving environment. Observes, records, analyzes and affects change of EH&S compliance-related activities as necessary. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues. Assure compliance with Corporate and Sector EHS procedures and guidelines such as HOPS and K200. Performs AS PPCB Secretary duties to assure internal reviews as required by HOPS and sector management. Review Detailed and Standard Operating procedures and approve or revise for safety compliance. Utilizes Root Cause and Problem-Solving tools. Provides creative and practical technical solutions to a moderate range of challenging problems. Collects, evaluates and interprets relevant EH&S related data and metrics. Prepares environmental, health and safety metrics to leadership as required. Engagement with site leadership to foster a strong positive EHS culture across the AS Business Unit. Provides input for external communications to customers, regulators & shareholders. Prepares communications to internal management. Manages AS relationships and related activities with EH&S regulatory personnel such as DCMA Safety, OSHA, EPA/MPCA and other regulatory agencies. Lead internal actions and activities related to event investigations. Collaboration with other site EH&S Managers, to harmonize company EH&S policies and procedures. Developing and providing safety related training programs for touch labor, engineers and management. Manage occupational health programs including industrial hygiene monitoring and surveillance. Manage department budget and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and drive corrective actions. Oversee all required hazards analysis and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion. Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent technical area (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, etc.) 9 years of EHS experience or a Master's degree plus 7 years of EHS experience Minimum of 3 years of Managemeng/Leadership experience Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance Ability to provide technical solutions to complex problems based on sound safety principles. Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs. Ability to travel 25% of the time. Experience supporting EHS programs for manufacturing operations. Experience with Hazards Analysis and GFMEA. Experience working in an environment that processes and utilizes energetic materials such as propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, etc. Demonstrate the ability to develop and carry out sustainability programs to meet corporate metrics. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
