Responsible for the leadership and coordination of 25+ person engineering team with 2+ supporting managers Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group. Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers. Increasing machinery design engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring. Balancing employee needs with business goals. Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group. Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process. Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements. Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 8 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 6 years of engineering experience. Experience in functional/people management. Ability to work onsite at Sunnyvale, CA. This role is 100% on-site. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution. Experience with requirements and interface management and verification. Experience with design of fabricated and machined components, or design of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems. Technical project management experience with proven successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP). Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities. Knowledge of Design Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks. Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management (EVM).
