Provides lab design, integration and systems engineering support for system and software engineering labs. Designs and develops system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concepts. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customers. Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. This requisition may be filled at a Lab Design Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Lab Design Engineer (Level 3) level based on the qualifications below. Lab Design Engineer (Level 2) Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience. Strong proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent electrical design tools Background in manufacturing or liaison engineering to support assembly build-up and aircraft system testing. Experience developing and managing test requirements Hands-on experience with subsystem, payload, or systems integration Knowledge of aircraft-type cable assemblies, MIL type wiring and components such as mil connectors, back shells, relays, switches, indicator lights, terminal junction system components, etc.
