Addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract Assignments received in objective oriented terms Full working knowledge of procedures and practices Overseeing projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group Interpreting and executing policies and procedures that directly impact team performance, morale, and effectiveness Recommending modifications to operating policies Ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget Functioning as an advisor to team members regarding tasks, projects, and operations Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts Conducting briefings and participating in technical meetings for internal/external representatives Bachelor's degree of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math - or related technical area) with 8+ years of Software related experience - OR - Master's degree of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math - or related technical area) with 6+ years of Software related experience Experience in requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, embedded software development, and verification and validation at subsystem and system level Must have a high proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and control account monitoring Demonstrated software engineering, controls, or systems engineering leadership experience, preferably with experience in Space Flight Software or Simulation Software. Ability to form strong partnerships to ensure lockstep coordination with adjacent discipline areas and program manager leadership. Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance to start (citizenship required) Demonstrated excellence in a technical leadership/management role with 15+ team members Experience with Earned Value Management Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, processes, and tools Demonstrated excellence in requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, verification and validation at subsystem and system level or Demonstrated vehicle development, mission systems integration, ground and flight test validation experience Experience in successfully developing and integrating software and hardware solutions for space applications Experience in system and subsystem specification development including verification methodologies Experience implementing action plans based on metrics and/or root cause/corrective actions Hands-on technical experience with spacecraft or satellite related systems Proven experience leading technically diverse teams, possibly across multiple locations Experience with Space Flight Software, Simulation Software
