Manage a group of multi-disciplinary analysis engineers supporting current development programs, production programs and follow-on pursuits for air breathing propulsion RAMJET and SCRAMJET product lines. The manager will ensure that the technical plans meet the program requirements, scope, and cost/schedule constraints. In addition, she/he will actively manage their direct reports in areas such as safety, job expectations, quality of work, career goals, mentoring/coaching, and Engineering Department accountabilities. Further, he/she will ensure the staff receives the appropriate training and skill development opportunities to be successful in their roles and will provide feedback with respect to their individual performance levels. Planning, prioritization, allocation, and management of resources to ensure program engineering assignments are completed on schedule and within budget to the appropriate technical rigor as well as meeting department budgetary goals. Mentor and motivate to ensure a high performing engineering team. This includes use of Development Plans, stretch assignments, 1:1 feedback, training, recognition, promotion/equity, and other tools to develop and reward our engineering talent. Establishing and promoting high standards for safety and quality. Maintain assigned Northrop Grumman engineering processes and drive technical excellence by ensuring team output meets technical standards. Support technology growth in innovation identification, roadmap development, and proposal support. Ensuring that Engineering, Program Management, and other functional departments are aligned in understanding program/proposal goals and the technical and programmatic approaches to achieve these goals. Applying sound engineering principles and ensuring compliance with all command media processes and standards in our technical solutions. Taking a leadership role in solving significant engineering issues. Working with lead/chief engineers, develop plans to resolve the issues, communicate the plan, ensure appropriate technical resources are applied, and advise Senior Management on progress. Represent and communicate Northrop Grumman technical capabilities and technologies to internal and external customers. Use appropriate metrics to monitor engineering performance and drive data-based decision making. Actively pursue improvement initiatives related to Engineering Analysis processes and procedures. Actively pursue improvement initiatives related to Engineering processes and procedures, including audit and training. STEM degree with strong preference of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 12 years of overall pertinent engineering experience Technical background of engineering analysis disciplines (computational fluid dynamics, thermal, structural, dynamics, and performance) Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of analytical software (CFD++, StarCCM+, ANSYS, ABAQUS) Must be a self-starter and possess the skills necessary to lead and motivate others, achieving results in a timely manner Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to internal and external customers and management Strong leadership, influence, and project management skills Ability to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectives Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite Active Secret Clearance or higher Prior people leadership, budgeting, hiring, and/or performance appraisal experience Competency in applied analysis of at least two of the analysis group disciplines (fluids, thermal, structural and dynamics) Understanding and experience with air breathing propulsion systems and solid rocket motors. Understanding of systems engineering principles for task development and completion Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of analytical software (CFD++, StarCCM+, ANSYS ABAQUS) and ability to recommend appropriate computing resources required for efficient processing of analytical models with high performance workstations and HPC clusters. General user knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter Unified Architecture Good knowledge of metals and additive materials for high thermal loading environments and general knowledge in composites in same environment.
