Design and develop custom simulation frameworks and models for novel experiments on superconducting devices. Debug existing simulation tools and support implementation of new capabilities. Support the current and future development of simulation tools within function, cost, and schedule constraints. Analyze simulation results on superconducting qubits. Mentor less experienced staff to help them learn software development skills. Interest/excitement in research areas involving qubits and superconducting electronics. Tenacity when diving into problems to follow them through and find the optimal solution. Ability to distill generic program goals into concrete action. Presentation and communication skills. Ability to collaborate in a small group setting (4-7 people) as well as work independently. Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in STEM related field with 3 years' of relevant technical experience OR Masters' degree in STEM related field and currently enrolled in a PhD program with a completion date prior to start with 1 year of relevant technical experience OR PhD in STEM related field with 1 year of relevant technical experience. Familiarity with software best practices and development lifecycle. Proficiency writing code in Python. This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per business requirements. Principal Quantum Simulation Developer:
PhD in theoretical physics, electrical engineering, or a STEM related field with 4 years of professional experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience. Experience with physics-based simulations. Experience developing models to understand experimental results. Experience in a collaborative software development environment. Familiarity with software best practices and development lifecycle. Proficiency writing code in Python. Experience mentoring teams and providing leadership in a scientific setting. This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per business requirements. Principal Quantum Simulation Developer:
PhD in theoretical physics, electrical engineering, or a STEM related field. Experience writing in a version-controlled, OOP-based codebase in Python. Experience with code parallelization in an HPC environment. Experience with code review. Leadership experience working on a scientific research team. Experience with codebase design and architecture. Active U.S. Government security clearance.
