Perform design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems of company products. Analyze requirements for materials, structural component, or functional systems. Develop original ideas and elaborate on preliminary design concepts. Evaluate completed design with supervisor and other technical groups and make modification necessary to achieve the most ideal design. Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems With limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assemblies Responds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sources Makes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group's work Establish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systems Release results as design data after review from other engineers This position will be hired at the level of demonstrated skills, experience, education, and competency. Requires a STEM degree. A Bachelors with at least 2 years of experience or a Masters degree with 0 or more years of experience. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Current active Security Clearance Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes, additive manufacture experience desirable Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM) Requires a STEM degree. A Bachelors with at least 5 years of experience or a Masters degree with at least 3 years of experience. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite Proficiency with Siemens NX Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with mechanical design of propulsion or fluid systems Current active Security Clearance
