Quality Manager 2 - Tooling Quality Inspection & Engineering

Job Description

Lead a geographically dispersed team of Tool Quality Engineers, Tool Quality Inspectors, and quality professionals in a dynamic, fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Oversee the strategic planning and tactical operations to ensure the acceptance, release, and continual improvement of tooling and quality systems. Manage safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while maintaining employee engagement and compliance with Northrop Grumman's quality management systems. Provide objective-oriented direction to ensure production standards are met while balancing schedule and budget requirements for multiple aerospace programs. Standardize quality engineering and inspection processes across sites, proactively managing resources to mitigate production and schedule risks. Utilize advanced technical skills—including the use of laser trackers, CMM equipment, and GD&T—to assess and improve the specialty tooling process and overall quality performance. Act as an advisor and liaison between internal departments, suppliers, and customers to analyze data, resolve issues, and implement root cause corrective actions. Develop and mentor team members by promoting learning, continuous improvement, and a culture of ethical leadership and inclusive practices. Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9+ years of related work experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing or aerospace quality leadership role. Proven leadership experience by having at least 5 years of experience in managing both exempt and non-exempt employees in a multi-site environment. Strong proficiency in interpreting and working with engineering blueprints, specifications, and advanced measuring equipment for tool validation and inspection. Experience in applying quality management methods, root cause analysis, and corrective actions in a production setting. Ability to secure/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and the capability to obtain Special Program Access as required. STEM degree Advanced degree Extensive knowledge of aerospace tooling, inspection of specialty tooling, and quality accreditation systems (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP). Demonstrated working proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards and composite manufacturing processes. Experience balancing strategic program management with detailed technical oversight, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and resource management skills with the ability to drive continuous process improvement and employee development. Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
