The candidate will serve as a Software Engineer for Sentinel Program, requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate software issues to support subsystem and system level Design Verification Tests (DVTs). Communicate SW project status to the Software IPT Lead. Collaborate with research scientists and systems engineers to implement requirement verification approaches. Design, develop, and implement testing methods for individual pieces of equipment (both custom and COTS) and entire systems. Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements. Documenting & dispositioning software discrepancies, pursuing root cause & corrective actions Principal Engineer Embedded Software: 8 Years with Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or qualifying discipline; 6 Years with Master of Science in Computer Science or qualifying discipline, or 4 year with a PhD US Citizenship Active DoD Secret Level security clearance Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Working knowledge in one of the following languages:
MATLAB, Simulink, and C#. Ability to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teams Experience in Test script development with HW interfaces Experience performing formal requirements decomposition and/or verification Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Ability to work at a fast pace, while multi-tasking, and still communicate effectively Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA, as required by this position Principal Engineer Embedded Software:
Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers. Working knowledge of environmental test equipment: interface controls with thermal chambers, rate tables, and vibration tables. Advanced level modeling of Simulink with Hardware in the Loop. Ability to troubleshoot Test Equipment HW and PCs for integration with embedded test software. Extensive experience with RTOS. Demonstrated use of configuration management and collaboration tool suites (Git and GitLab) Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, Unit Test, and Test Driven Methodologies
