Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer who will take part in the design, build, deploy, and maintenance of cloud-based systems and infrastructure to help the Digital Ecosystem Segment store data, run applications, and manage IT services efficiently and securely. Install, configure, and maintain cloud-based servers, storage, and applications. Proactively monitor cloud systems for performance, security issues, and potential problems, then implement solutions to optimize efficiency and resource utilization. Use scripting languages to automate routine administrative tasks, improving efficiency and reducing human error. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance Work with development teams, security personnel, and other stakeholders to meet evolving business requirements. Cloud DevOps Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 1 year experience or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years, PhD 0+ years or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret; etc.) Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills Currently holds an IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CompTIA Security+ CE Experience supporting Cloud platform infrastructure (ex. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Experience supporting Windows enterprise architecture or supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Experience with infrastructure components, including networking, storage, and IT security concepts. Experience in scripting for automation (ex. PowerShell, Python, Bash) Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management tools (ex. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible) Proficiency in AWS cloud platform Infrastructure management & services. Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server operating systems. Networking Knowledge with Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Load Balancers, DNS, Firewall Rules, and Security Groups Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management tools (ex. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible) Experience with Containerization and Orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, AWS Lambda) Experience with secrets (ex. Vault) and artifact management (Nexus, Harbor) Experience and understanding of working within DoD cybersecurity compliance guidelines
