As a Functional Manager, you will be required to provide a wide range of people leadership, mentoring activities and foster a culture that allows employees to learn and grow. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for your direct reports. This includes setting goals, mid and end-of-year reviews as well as performance evaluations and compensation. This role will also require you to mentor your direct reports in many ways. You will be their first line of contact for things such as career growth, training and certifications funding, stretch assignments, etc. Promotes the professional development of the Homeroom workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement. Managing and guiding direct report annual goals, performance evaluations and compensations reviews * Ensure accurate time charging and timecard approvals Conflict resolution, managing performance issues and improvement plans Career growth mentoring for team of direct reports Aligning direct reports to technical roles based on program needs Helping identify stretch assignments and opportunities Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation. Partner with engineering and program management peers to assure a balanced and efficient assignment of resources to support and achieve key mission priorities Coach, support, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning and support iteration execution Collaborate with peers and direct management in resource planning and hiring activities Life Insurance Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions Paid Time Off Health & Wellness Resources Employee Discounts This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need Experience in writing and presenting technical content In depth familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran Master's degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Professional Engineer's License Master's degree in Business In depth familiarity with the majority of the following:
Ansys, Abaqus, FEMAP, Nastran, LS-DYNA, MathCad, Matlab. Strong experience leading teams and training others. Experience with individual contributor performance assessments Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans
