Support mechanical design oversite for mechanical models and drawings (including compliance with industry and program standards) Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications. Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate test requirements and prepare test reports Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, data processing, and performance analysis Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal Review customer deliverables, with a special focus on mechanical designs, testing, and requirements verification Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function. Staff Mechanical Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of experience, or 12 years of experience with a Master's degree; 10 years of experience with PHD Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and applications (engineering standards, Mechanical design and standards, CAD modeling and analysis, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) Hands on experience in project management and control account management Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers, leading a project, and/or mentoring junior engineers Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
