Provide product/subsystem technical leadership for NDDS. Ensure technical quality, performance, cost, and schedule, including active risk management. Manage and conduct to closure subsystem and lower technical reviews. Provide configuration management oversight for NDDS artifacts/products. Coordinate with program management and C5I IPT Lead to integrate NDDS into the program work breakdown structure, integrated master plan, and/or IMS. Work with engineering management to ensure use and application of standardized tools and development environments, as applicable to NDDS. Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree required with noted, relevant years of experience:
Bachelor's degree with 12 years, Master's degree with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years. 4+ years' experience as a technical lead (e.g. IPT lead, systems engineering lead, or equivalent). Knowledge of one or more shipboard systems in the following categories:
Navigation Systems, Navigation Data Distribution, Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), Command and Control (C2), Class/Unclass Networks, other shipboard C5I systems. Solid understanding of Systems Engineering with demonstrated experience leading through design and production. Experience summarizing and communicating status reports to technical leadership at a level higher than immediate management. U.S Citizenship with Active Secret clearance or higher. Experience in technical leadership of hardware development programs. Knowledge of multiple shipboard systems in the following categories:
Navigation Systems, Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), Command and Control (C2), Class/Unclass Networks, other shipboard C5I systems. Self-directed technical leader with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to act as a liaison to the customer for engineering efforts. AutoCAD or similar CAD experience. Prior military or government contract experience.
