Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Prepare reports and memos documenting structural assessment activities and results Prepare and make presentations summarizing structural assessment/analysis results for internal review boards and external customers Perform assessment and develop disposition of discrepant hardware and hardware anomalies FE analysis experience with MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering - Emphasis in metal structures, and solid mechanics or finite element theory Familiarity of design and modeling software (NX) Strong and demonstrated communication, planning, project management and presentation skills Computer skills including NX, ANSYS (Classic or Workbench), and ABAQUS Experience in finite element theory with emphasis in structural analysis, solid mechanic, including static strength, buckling, and bolted joint analysis BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering and 5 years of experience or 3 years of experience with a MS, or PhD.
