Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (experience)
- 15 years of design and development experience in the defense or aerospace industries (experience)
- 5+ years of project or program leadership (experience)
- U.S. Citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (experience)
Responsibilities
- Provides outstanding leadership on development programs including resolving highly complex technical problems
- Is the final engineering technical authority for assigned products
- Ensures pertinent design factors are considered during new product development
- Leads failure investigations and associated corrective actions
- Acts as a technical interface to external customers
- Works closely with project engineering and program management to meet overall program objectives
- Shares knowledge with other engineers
- Provides mentoring to other engineers
- Provides guidance to staff on interpretation of operating procedures and process documents
- Drives continuous improvement of engineering tools, methods and technical capabilities
- Leads and coordinates continuous improvement projects
