Lead the Data Foundations team in building scalable, low-latency distributed data infrastructure powering Okta's streaming analytics, ML platforms, and telemetry systems. As Engineering Manager in the Data Platform Group, you'll design foundational systems using Kinesis, Flink, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, and GCP to enable Okta's growth in secure identity management. This role drives strategic data and ML initiatives, partnering with senior leadership to position Okta as a leader in data-driven security and engineering innovation. Key Responsibilities: • Recruit, mentor, and manage a globally distributed team of diverse engineers focused on data foundations • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, TechOps, and other teams to deliver end-to-end data platform projects • Drive technical architecture, design discussions, and roadmap planning for distributed data systems • Ensure team productivity, happiness, and innovation while meeting organizational metrics and goals • Manage cloud infrastructure costs in GCP and AWS with Okta's FinOps team and participate in on-call rotations • Mitigate technical, product, and personnel risks while communicating data platform vision externally What We're Looking For: • 2+ years leading high-performing platform engineering teams with end-to-end project delivery experience • Hands-on production experience with distributed systems in AWS (GCP a strong plus) • Proven track record in Data Platform technologies like streaming analytics, Kinesis, Flink, Elasticsearch, or Snowflake • Strong facilitation skills for technical design, requirements gathering, and status sessions • Passion for automation, agile methodologies, and prior software development as an individual contributor What We Offer: • Competitive compensation with equity and benefits • Health, dental, vision insurance and 401(k) matching • Flexible PTO, parental leave, and professional development • Hybrid work options and inclusive, collaborative culture Okta is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
