As a Senior Software Engineer in Core Identity (Auth0), you'll design, build, and operate mission-critical authentication pipelines, identity protocols, and user sessions that power over 100 million daily logins worldwide. Join the heart of Okta's identity platform and tackle complex distributed systems challenges in Identity and Access Management (IAM). Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop robust Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript) backend services using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis on multi-cloud AWS and Azure infrastructure. • Own the technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of core identity systems, driving architectural improvements and engineering best practices. • Build innovative features and standards for authentication, authorization, and identity protocols that extend Auth0's platform capabilities. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA teams to deliver customer-delighting features in a fast-paced, agile environment. • Mentor engineers, contribute to technical excellence, and participate in on-call rotation to maintain healthy, high-performance services at scale. • Deepen expertise in IAM, distributed systems, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and modern security practices. What We're Looking For: • 4+ years of professional software development experience building backend services with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript). • Proven experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in cloud environments like AWS or Azure. • Strong commitment to software quality with hands-on experience in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies. • Product-oriented mindset with passion for simplifying complex problems in Identity and Access Management (IAM). • Experience or strong interest in digital identity, authentication protocols, and large-scale system performance optimization.
