As a Senior Software Engineer in Core Identity (Auth0), you'll design, build, and operate mission-critical authentication pipelines, identity protocols, and user sessions that power over 100 million daily logins worldwide. Your work ensures secure, scalable access for global applications on multi-cloud infrastructure like AWS and Azure. This role is pivotal in stewarding Auth0's platform reliability, enabling innovation in identity and access management (IAM) at massive scale. Key Responsibilities: • Architect and implement resilient Node.js backend services (TypeScript/JavaScript) using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis for high-traffic authentication systems. • Own the technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of core identity services, driving architectural improvements and best practices. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA teams to deliver customer-delighting features in distributed systems. • Build innovative authentication standards and protocols that extend Auth0's platform capabilities for secure global innovation. • Mentor engineers, contribute to technical excellence, and participate in on-call rotation to maintain service health at scale. • Deepen expertise in IAM, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and large-scale distributed systems while optimizing performance and efficiency. What We're Looking For: • 4+ years of professional software development experience building backend services with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript). • Proven experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in cloud environments like AWS or Azure. • Strong commitment to software quality with hands-on experience in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies. • Product-oriented mindset with passion for simplifying complex problems in identity and access management (IAM). • Familiarity with digital identity protocols, user sessions, and large-scale systems; interest in Auth0's authentication pipeline highly valued.
