As a Software Engineer II - Build System Expertise on the Auth0 Platform Infrastructure team, you'll design and maintain modular Continuous Integration (CI) systems, Unified Build Stages, and Artifact Management services that power secure, scalable builds on AWS and Azure. Your work will enable thousands of daily logins for global customers by ensuring reliable developer workflows, performance optimizations, and security scanning. This high-impact role shapes the foundational infrastructure for Okta's rapid growth in identity management. Key Responsibilities: • Implement and maintain features for CI and Artifact Management platform components, using established architectural patterns for modular Unified Build Stages. • Investigate and resolve operational issues, bugs, and complex distributed failures in build systems, demonstrating proactive self-unblocking and system mastery. • Tackle well-defined build performance and scaling bottlenecks, delivering solutions under guidance to optimize developer velocity. • Develop complex, reusable Unified Build Stages and Services for security scanning, automated testing orchestration, and standardized packaging/versioning. • Collaborate with Product, Platform, Security, and Quality Engineering teams to gather requirements and integrate into modular CI stages. • Maintain operational health of CI systems, including high availability, scaling of build agents, source control integration, and cost optimizations for compute and storage. What We're Looking For: • 2-3 years of software development experience with exposure to platform/infrastructure roles in CI/Build Systems and Artifact/Package Management. • Working knowledge of CI system concepts, modular build stages, and centralized artifact registry solutions like container registries. • Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Golang or Python for developing build tooling and services. • Working understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. • Experience with security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and integrating guardrails into CI pipelines and artifact handling.
