As a Staff Backend Engineer in Python & Java/.Net/Go, you'll design and build SDKs, libraries, and APIs that simplify complex identity authentication for developers worldwide. You'll enhance the Auth0 developer experience by improving onboarding, documentation, and support, driving seamless integration into customer apps. This role is pivotal in making identity management secure, scalable, and developer-friendly at Okta, the World's Identity Company. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop SDKs, libraries, and APIs to simplify complex identity APIs and flows for customer applications • Provide technical direction, guidance, and roadmap shaping for your engineering team • Coach and mentor engineers at all levels to reach peer-level expertise • Discover and advocate for new technologies, including AI-powered solutions, to improve libraries and automation • Lead cross-team initiatives end-to-end, including code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, and security hygiene • Author developer documentation, tutorials, quick starts, and blog posts while assisting in support channels What We're Looking For: • 9+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in Python and 2+ years in Java or .Net • Strong experience creating or contributing to large-scale open-source projects and developer libraries/SDKs • Excellent understanding of Python ecosystem, Java, JVM, and .Net technologies • Proven track record mentoring diverse engineering teams to success across platforms • Experience designing, developing, or integrating AI-powered solutions into scalable systems What We Offer: • Competitive compensation with equity and benefits • Health, dental, vision insurance and 401(k) matching • Flexible PTO, parental leave, and professional development • Hybrid work options and inclusive, collaborative culture Okta is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
