As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer in Security at Okta, you'll secure and scale our Workforce Identity Cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, driving DevSecOps practices to protect critical IAM and containerized services. This high-impact role bridges Security and Engineering teams, innovating defense-in-depth measures and least privilege principles to elevate our cloud security posture. Key Responsibilities: • Build, run, and monitor Okta's production infrastructure with a focus on security at scale in AWS (EC2, ECS, KMS) and GCP (GKE). • Evangelize security best practices and lead initiatives to strengthen security posture for critical cloud infrastructure. • Respond to production incidents, triage complex issues, and implement preventive measures for reliability and performance. • Identify and automate manual processes while evolving monitoring tools for containerized IAM services. • Promote scalable, reliable service best practices across engineering teams, including runbooks and technical documentation. • Support 24x7 on-call rotation as a technical SME for security-focused production infrastructure. What We're Looking For: • 8+ years experience in DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure security, IAM, and containerized services in AWS and GCP. • Proven track record securing large-scale production environments with EC2, ECS, KMS, Kinesis, RDS, and GKE. • Expertise in defense-in-depth, least privilege principles, and industry security standards for cloud platforms. • Strong incident response skills for triaging and troubleshooting complex production issues. • Passion for automation, monitoring tools, and mentoring junior engineers in SRE practices.
