As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in Security and Data Systems at Okta, you'll design, build, and maintain highly reliable infrastructure for our Snowflake data systems and security SaaS offerings, ensuring scalability, high availability, and compliance. This role blends software engineering with systems administration to automate toil, respond to incidents, and proactively prevent issues in our federal-focused environments. Key Responsibilities: • Design, build, and operate core infrastructure for security SaaS and Snowflake data systems, focusing on high availability, performance, and scalability. • Develop automation using code, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines with Spinnaker to eliminate toil and standardize deployments. • Embed security-first practices and ensure compliance with industry standards across systems and data platforms in collaboration with security teams. • Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response for critical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures. • Partner with development, data science, and security teams to guide architectural decisions, best practices, and new service implementations. • Manage large-scale Kubernetes clusters, containerization, and database migrations using tools like Flyway for reliable schema changes. What We're Looking For: • 8+ years of SRE or infrastructure engineering experience with production-level coding in large-scale systems. • Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for cloud provisioning and management. • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and managing production clusters at scale. • Proven track record with Snowflake data systems and database migration tools like Flyway. • Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices, particularly Spinnaker, and modern continuous delivery pipelines.
