As a Staff Software Engineer - Linux Platform Foundations, you'll architect and build high-performance C++ applications for secure Linux desktop environments, powering Okta's identity and access management solutions. Your work will enable seamless authentication and authorization for enterprise users across devices, strengthening Okta's Workforce and Customer Identity Clouds. Join us to tackle cutting-edge security challenges in a rapidly evolving industry. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with QA, Product, Support, and UX teams to integrate Linux client components seamlessly into Okta's ecosystem. • Gather and refine requirements with Product and Engineering for prototyping secure Linux platform features. • Contribute to technical designs, proposals, and architectural decisions following C++ best practices on Linux. • Develop high-quality, maintainable C++ software components with comprehensive unit and functional tests. • Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on coding standards, security best practices, and Linux-specific optimizations. • Create technical documentation and share knowledge on Linux platform foundations within the Access Management Engineering Team. What We're Looking For: • 7+ years of hands-on experience developing C++ applications on Linux platforms. • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, design patterns, and writing clean, scalable C++ code for enterprise settings. • Strong experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools in Linux environments. • Expertise in Linux debugging, troubleshooting, and proficiency with IPC mechanisms like Pipes, RPC, and Sockets. • Familiarity with cloud platforms, databases, security protocols, and identity management challenges.
