The Tax Analyst (Indirect Tax) manages all aspects of Indian GST compliance, including return filing and regulatory monitoring, while supporting U.S. and international indirect tax needs like sales/use taxes and VAT. This role ensures accurate, timely compliance in a fast-paced global environment, safeguarding Okta's operations as The World’s Identity Company. Join us to drive tax efficiency and business growth through expert GST and indirect tax strategies. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9. • Monitor Indian indirect tax legislative changes and assess impacts on compliance and operations. • Assist U.S. team with State & Local Sales/Use Taxes, VAT, and international GST return compliance. • Respond to tax notices, prepare audit defense documentation, and conduct tax law research for stakeholders. • Extract, transform data using tools like Alteryx, perform tax reconciliations, and prepare journal entries. • Coordinate with external providers, maintain SOX-compliant processes, and support ad-hoc tax projects. What We're Looking For: • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CS/CMA/M.COM/LLB preferred; 3+ years indirect tax experience or 1-2 years dedicated GST. • Strong understanding of GST laws and Indian indirect taxes required. • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and logical functions. • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and data analytics tools like Alteryx. • Excellent communication, analytical skills, multitasking, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
