Role Overview

The Executive, Strategic Global Partnerships & Ecosystem at OpenAI is a pivotal C-level position responsible for defining, building, and scaling the company's global revenue partner ecosystem. Based in San Francisco, this role sits at the critical intersection of strategy, revenue, product, and external ecosystem leadership. You will architect a world-class network of strategic partners including global systems integrators, technology platforms, hyperscalers, services firms, and ecosystem leaders.

Your mission: materially extend OpenAI’s global reach, accelerate enterprise and public-sector adoption, and drive durable, long-term revenue growth. Beyond tactical partner execution, you'll shape how OpenAI goes to market globally through partners—identifying where partnerships matter most, selecting partners that fundamentally change OpenAI’s trajectory, and transforming ecosystem leverage into a sustained competitive advantage.

Reporting to the CRO and partnering closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Product leadership, and executive team, you'll ensure partnerships are deeply embedded into OpenAI’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy, product roadmap, and overall growth objectives. This is not a traditional partnerships role; it's a strategic leadership position that demands vision, execution excellence, and the ability to operate at the highest levels of global enterprise technology.

In this role, you'll build and lead a senior, globally distributed partnerships organization, establishing operational excellence across Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Operations. Success will be measured by ecosystem-driven revenue contribution, market expansion velocity, and the depth of transformational partnerships established.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Define and own OpenAI’s global partnerships and ecosystem strategy. Serve as senior advisor to CRO, CCO, and executive leadership while representing OpenAI externally with the world’s most influential partners and customers.
  2. Partner Ecosystem Expansion: Build deep, executive-level relationships with global systems integrators (GSIs), hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), multinational services firms, and regional partners to establish transformational alliances.
  3. Revenue Generation: Drive significant, scalable revenue through partner-led, partner-sourced, and partner-influenced motions with full P&L accountability for ecosystem revenue contribution.
  4. Partner Enablement: Create world-class enablement models ensuring partners can sell, deploy, and scale OpenAI solutions aligned with technical standards and product roadmap.
  5. Operational Excellence: Build and lead globally distributed partnerships team and operating model with deep cross-functional integration.
