Position Summary

The Operations Intern position in New Albany, Ohio, offers a dynamic 10–12 week summer program designed as your launchpad into the natural gas industry. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in operations, technical skills development, and collaboration with industry leaders. Day in the Life

You'll train in electrical, instrumentation, and controls; perform transmitter calibrations; complete line locations, pigging, and valve maintenance; and conduct daily rounds and readings. Build mechanical expertise through preventative maintenance, compliance tasks, and facility upkeep—all while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Intern, you'll contribute directly to facility operations and maintenance:

  • Assist with tasks to safely maintain equipment and support operations, collaborating on technical solutions.
  • Acquire knowledge of safe facility operations, protecting community, personnel, environment, and assets.
  • Complete assigned reports, logs, and accurate records of process operations and preventative maintenance.
  • Participate in specialized training like flow path, I/E support, transmitter calibrations, line locations, pigging, valve maintenance, and daily readings.
  • Build skills in mechanical maintenance, compliance activities, and general facility cleaning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to business needs and your skillset.

Required Qualifications

To qualify for this Operations Intern role, candidates must meet these criteria:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Current enrollment and completion of one semester in a technical associates or certificate program, such as Industrial Technology, Diesel Technology, Electrical or I&E Program, or Transportation and Applied Technology at institutions like Owens CC, Terra State CC, Lorain CCC, Penta Career Center, or equivalent accredited technical school.
  • Physical Requirements: Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces; carry/lift up to 50 lbs individually or team lift heavier loads; stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods; work at heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or towers with PPE; use hand tools.
  • Other: Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record. Position not eligible for sponsorship.
