Position Summary

Join Williams as an Operations Intern in Plymouth, Washington, and ignite your career in the dynamic world of energy operations. This 10–12 week paid internship is your launchpad to hands-on experience in natural gas facility operations, technical training, and real-world impact. Current students in the Energy Systems Technology Program at Walla Walla Community College will gain immersive exposure to electrical, instrumentation, mechanical maintenance, and compliance activities. Day in the Life

Expect a fast-paced role with varied responsibilities based on business needs, your skills, and location. From transmitter calibrations and valve maintenance to daily rounds and preventative upkeep, you'll develop technical expertise while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with safe maintenance of facility equipment and operational support, collaborating on technical problem-solving.
  • Train in electrical, instrumentation, controls (I/E), flow paths, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform hands-on tasks like transmitter calibrations, line locations, pigging, valve maintenance, and gathering system readings.
  • Build mechanical knowledge through preventative maintenance, compliance activities, and facility cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate reports, logs, and records of operations and equipment performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols protecting personnel, community, environment, and assets.
  • Other duties as assigned to support operations.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current enrollment and completion of at least one semester in the Energy Systems Technology Program at Walla Walla Community College.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Safety as utmost priority with excellent attention to detail.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs individually and team lift heavier loads.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods.
  • Work at heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or towers with PPE.
  • Use hand tools and perform physically demanding tasks.

Other Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Position not eligible for sponsorship.
