Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Intern, you'll dive into the heart of natural gas operations. Key duties include:

• Training in electrical, instrumentation, and controls while providing I/E support.
• Participating in flow path training and performing transmitter calibrations.
• Completing process operator training and hands-on tasks like line locations, pigging, valve maintenance, daily rounds, and readings.
• Building mechanical knowledge through preventative maintenance, compliance activities, and general facility cleaning.
• Assisting with safe facility equipment maintenance and collaborating on technical/operational problem-solving.
• Acquiring knowledge of safe operations to protect personnel, community, environment, and assets.
• Maintaining accurate reports, logs, and records of process operations and equipment performance.

Expect a dynamic day-to-day: working outdoors, using hand tools, and contributing to team efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

This role demands physical readiness:

• Work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs individually or team lift heavier loads.
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods.
• Work at heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding with PPE.
• Use hand tools regularly.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you need:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Current enrollment and completion of one semester in Mechanical & Construction Technology, Chemical & Refining Industries, Process Technology at Brazosport College, Wharton County Junior College, or equivalent accredited technical institution.
• Other: Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record. Position not eligible for sponsorship. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills (demonstrated).
