Position Summary

The Operations Intern - TX Pearsall position is a 10-12 week immersive program designed for students passionate about the natural gas industry. Based in Pearsall, Texas, this internship offers hands-on experience in operations, technical skills development, and real-world projects. You'll work alongside seasoned professionals, tackling tasks like electrical support, transmitter calibrations, and facility maintenance. Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Intern, you'll dive into the heart of natural gas operations. Responsibilities vary by business needs, location, and your skills, but expect to:

  • Train in electrical, instrumentation, and controls while providing I/E support.
  • Participate in flow path training and perform transmitter calibrations.
  • Complete line locations, pigging, valve maintenance, daily rounds, and readings in the gathering system.
  • Build mechanical knowledge through preventative maintenance, compliance activities, and facility cleaning.
  • Assist with safe facility equipment maintenance and collaborate on technical/operational solutions.
  • Acquire knowledge of safe operations, protecting personnel, environment, community, and assets.
  • Maintain accurate reports, logs, and records of process operations and equipment performance.

Day in the Life

Expect a dynamic role involving fieldwork in extreme conditions, using hand tools, climbing, and lifting. You'll gain practical skills in a fast-paced environment, receiving real-time feedback and mentoring.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current enrollment and completion of one semester in a technical associates or certificate program at Southwest Texas Junior College or St. Phillips College.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces.
  • Carry/lift up to 50 lbs individually and team lift heavier loads.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods.
  • Work at heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or towers with PPE.
  • Use hand tools regularly.

Other Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Position not eligible for sponsorship.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; safety as top priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
