Position Summary

The Operations Intern - Worsham Steed position in Perrin, Texas, offers a dynamic 10–12 week internship program designed as your launchpad into the natural gas industry. This hands-on role provides immersive training, technical skill-building, and meaningful projects under the guidance of seasoned leaders. You'll tackle real-world challenges in facility operations, from electrical and instrumentation support to mechanical maintenance, while contributing to safe and efficient energy delivery. Day in the Life

Expect a mix of fieldwork and collaborative tasks: training in flow paths, calibrating transmitters, performing line locations and pigging, conducting valve maintenance, daily rounds, and preventative maintenance. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, gaining mechanical knowledge while ensuring compliance and asset protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tasks to safely maintain facility equipment, support operations, and solve technical problems collaboratively.
  • Acquire knowledge of safe facility operations, protecting personnel, community, environment, and assets.
  • Complete reports, logs, and accurate records of process operations and preventative maintenance.
  • Train in electrical, instrumentation, controls; provide I/E support; participate in flow path training.
  • Perform transmitter calibrations, line locations, pigging, valve maintenance, daily rounds, and readings.
  • Build mechanical skills through maintenance, compliance activities, and facility cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs, location, and your skills.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current enrollment and completion of one semester in Industrial Maintenance and Automation Technology (IMAT), Associate Degree Applied Science - Robotics & Automation Engineering at Weatherford College, AAS Industrial Technology at Cisco College, or equivalent accredited technical program.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, enclosed spaces; carry/lift up to 50 lbs individually or team lift heavier loads; stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for long periods; work at elevated levels with PPE; use hand tools.

Other Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Position not eligible for sponsorship.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, safety focus, and teamwork.
