As Operations Supervisor at our TGA-regulated medical device remanufacturing site in Beresfield, Australia, you'll blend hands-on operations with strategic leadership. This hybrid role oversees device processing—from cleaning and inspection to reassembly—while championing Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. You'll supervise teams, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Lead daily operations including supervising manual and machine-assisted tasks for cleaning, inspecting, disassembling, reassembling, and testing post-use medical devices. Support operators with equipment issues, process deviations, and quality concerns, escalating as needed while adhering to TGA, ISO 13485, and GMP SOPs. Ensure safe handling with infection control protocols and PPE, maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and traceability logs. Supervise visual/functional inspections, uphold 5S and GMP work areas, and coordinate training, toolbox talks, and improvement initiatives.
Act as WHS champion, promoting safety culture through regular checks, risk assessments, hazard identification, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Implement global EHS strategies, develop site-specific plans, manage hazard evaluations, ensure regulatory compliance with Safe Work Australia and NSW WHS laws. Analyze metrics for injury/illness prevention, support crisis management, business resiliency, and budgetary needs for risk reduction.
Serve as local Global Security contact, managing access control, visitor management, key control, and reporting incidents via the EHS/security tool. Collaborate with site leaders to safeguard people, property, and operations.
Candidates need a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in medical device processing, healthcare operations, or similar TGA-regulated environments is essential. Strong knowledge of WHS regulations, hazard recognition, and compliance with ISO 13485/GMP is required. WHS certifications, leadership experience in team supervision, and familiarity with 5S methodologies are highly valued. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills are must-haves for success in this role.
