Position Summary

The Operations Technician I/II role at Williams in Chesterfield, New Jersey, offers an exciting entry into the energy sector. You'll perform essential tasks to support pipeline operations and maintain facility equipment safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, including inspecting and supervising equipment to meet operation/technical standards and governmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement solutions for technical or operational problems.
  • Follow all company policies and apply appropriate operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Acquire and adhere to knowledge of safe facility operations, task execution, and protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
  • Oversee general knowledge of site equipment, permits, and compliance requirements.
  • Complete assigned reports and logs while maintaining accurate records of process operations and equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Handle other duties as assigned, adapting to the needs of the operation.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this Operations Technician role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum six months of mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in oil and gas, or relevant internship with an Associates Degree.
  • Physical Requirements: Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces; lift up to 50 lbs individually or team lift heavier loads; stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods; work at elevated heights with PPE; use hand tools.
  • Work Schedule: Availability for after-hours, on-call, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime (10-12 hour shifts), and occasional travel with overnights.
  • Other: Valid State Driver’s License with clean record; aptitude for technology to drive efficiency; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; safety-first mindset; proficiency in Microsoft Office, PC skills, and basic knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
