Position Summary

The Operations Technician I/II role at Williams in Mead, Colorado, offers an exciting opportunity to support critical pipeline operations in the energy sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely maintain equipment and support pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting technical drawings, inspecting/supervising equipment, and upholding operational/technical standards and governmental requirements.
  • Analyze operational data and collaborate with team members to identify and resolve technical or operational issues efficiently.
  • Adhere to all company policies, applying appropriate operating and maintenance procedures to ensure seamless facility performance.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of safe facility operations, task execution, community protection, personnel safety, environmental stewardship, and asset integrity.
  • Keep general awareness of site-specific equipment, locations, and permitting requirements.
  • Complete assigned reports, logs, and accurate records of process operations, while performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Handle other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced energy operations setting.

Required Qualifications & Experience

To succeed as an Operations Technician I/II, candidates must meet these core requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of related experience and at least one (1) year as a technician in the oil and gas industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, PC skills, Process Control Systems (PCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Other: Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record; aptitude for technology to drive operational efficiency; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as the top priority.

Physical & Work Environment Demands

This field-based role requires physical capability and flexibility:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs individually; team lift heavier loads.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods.
  • Operate at heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or towers with proper PPE.
  • Use hand tools regularly.
  • Availability for after-hours, on-call, nights, weekends, holidays; 10-12 hour shifts, overtime, and occasional travel with overnights.
