Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the development and implementation of pipeline operations, equipment maintenance, safety protocols, technical standards, and governmental compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist, delivering technical and operational guidance to the team, including advanced troubleshooting using established precedents and procedures.
  • Lead high-impact team projects and assignments of major scope or complexity that enhance operational efficiency and company profitability.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, operating procedures, and maintenance protocols to ensure seamless operations.
  • Coordinate protection strategies for community safety, personnel, environment, and company assets.
  • Manage site-specific permits, compliance awareness, and regulatory adherence.
  • Complete detailed reports, logs, and maintain precise records for operational transparency.
  • Provide hands-on mentorship and development to team members, fostering skill growth and team cohesion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall site and company objectives.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus a minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated experience as an operations technician in the oil and gas industry.
  • Preferred: Associate's or 2-year technical degree, combined with eight (8) years of progressive operations technician experience in natural gas processing or compression facilities.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

This field-based role requires physical stamina and adaptability:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud noise environments, and confined spaces.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs individually and team-lift heavier loads.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods.
  • Operate at elevated heights using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or towers with proper PPE.
  • Use hand tools and heavy equipment safely.

Shift, Hours, and Travel

  • Available for after-hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime (10-12 hour shifts), and occasional travel with overnight stays.

Other Essential Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for technology and applications to boost operational efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the top priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, PC skills, and advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems (PCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
