Position Overview

As an Accountant 4-Fin and Lead Assistant Financial Controller in Bengaluru, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights for Oracle's India operations. This position involves leading a team of accountants, managing complex financial reporting, and supporting business decisions with accurate data analysis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will contribute to Oracle's financial excellence in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and GAAP standards
  • Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance on financial processes and performance targets
  • Conduct variance analysis on budgets, forecasts, and actuals to identify trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, tax, and internal audit to support business initiatives
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and journal entries
  • Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and enhance process efficiency
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Support audits by coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting tools, such as Oracle ERP implementations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA certification required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational corporate environment
  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and financial operations
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and Indian GAAP with hands-on experience in financial reporting
  • Expertise in general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Oracle Financials or SAP
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, MBA, or equivalent advanced certification
  • Experience in the technology or software industry with exposure to SaaS revenue recognition
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Controller or similar role in a shared services center
  • Familiarity with automation tools for financial processes, such as RPA or advanced analytics
  • Strong project management skills with experience in system migrations or process optimizations
