Oracle is seeking an Advanced Degree Software Engineer Intern to contribute to cutting-edge database technologies in the San Francisco Bay Area. This paid internship, targeting May-Aug or June-Sept 2026, requires current enrollment in a university program with advanced degree pursuit. Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize database kernel components using C/C++ and advanced algorithms.
• Implement features for high-performance data storage and retrieval systems.
• Debug and resolve complex issues in distributed database environments.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on cloud-native database innovations.
• Conduct performance tuning and benchmarking on large-scale datasets.
• Contribute to design and code reviews for database security enhancements.
• Prototype new functionalities for Oracle Database and related tools.
• Document technical work and present findings to the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle DB).
• Solid understanding of operating systems, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Authorized to work in the US; available for full-time internship in Redwood Shores, CA.
