Position Overview

As the Architect in the OCI Chief Technical Architect Office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic technical direction of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, designing cutting-edge architectures for databases, applications, tools, and networks.

You will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software programs while collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver transformative cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable, high-performance architectures for OCI databases, applications, tools, and networking components to meet enterprise demands.
• Develop and prototype advanced software solutions, ensuring robustness, security, and optimal performance across cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in distributed systems, databases, and network infrastructures at scale.
• Collaborate with OCI executive leadership to define technical strategies and roadmaps for next-generation cloud services.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide expert guidance on best practices for cloud-native development and deployment.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization for OCI services, leveraging deep expertise in databases and distributed computing.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence within the Chief Technical Architect Office.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into OCI architectures to maintain competitive advantage.
• Document architectural designs, decisions, and trade-offs to enable seamless knowledge transfer and implementation.
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to align technical solutions with customer requirements and business goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in software architecture, with proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, databases, and distributed systems.
• Deep hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable systems using technologies like Java, Python, Go, or C++.
• Strong proficiency in database technologies such as Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL solutions, including performance optimization.
• Extensive knowledge of networking protocols, cloud networking, and security best practices in multi-tenant environments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex, production-scale software and infrastructure issues.
• Experience leading technical architecture for enterprise-grade applications and tools in a cloud environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms and their core services.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects in a chief architect or fellow-level role.
• Expertise in containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in cloud computing and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration in cloud infrastructures and autonomous database technologies.
