Position Overview

As an Associate Consultant specializing in Java, microservices, and core banking, you will join Oracle FSGBU’s Banking Consulting Europe team to support the implementation and customization of Oracle Banking platforms for leading financial institutions. This role offers hands-on experience in developing scalable microservices architectures and integrating core banking solutions using Java technologies. You will collaborate with senior consultants and clients to deliver high-impact projects that drive digital transformation in the banking sector. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based microservices for Oracle Banking applications, ensuring scalability and performance in core banking environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design technical solutions for banking platform customizations.
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate microservices with core banking systems, adhering to industry standards and compliance regulations.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to deliver high-quality, reliable software components.
• Support deployment and configuration of Oracle Banking products in client environments, including cloud and on-premise setups.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for core banking functionalities like payments, loans, and accounts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production microservices, optimizing for high availability and low latency.
• Document technical designs, APIs, and implementation details to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and delivery of iterative banking solutions.
• Assist senior consultants in client workshops, demos, and knowledge transfer sessions for Oracle Banking implementations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in Java development, including Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with core banking concepts such as transaction processing, account management, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle DB, PostgreSQL) for banking data handling.
• Experience with RESTful web services, JSON/XML, and API development tools like Postman or Swagger.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, client-facing environments.
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English; willingness to travel or work across European time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Oracle Java, Spring, or cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS).
• Exposure to Oracle FLEXCUBE or other core banking platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab) and version control (Git).
• Knowledge of financial regulations like PSD2, Basel III, or ISO 20022 messaging standards.
• Prior internship or project experience in banking IT consulting or fintech.
