Position Overview

The Oracle Government, Defense, and Intelligence organization seeks a technically proficient Cloud Services Developer to design, build, and deploy secure cloud-based services for high-stakes government applications. In this role, you will contribute to scalable cloud architectures that support defense and intelligence missions, leveraging Oracle's industry-leading cloud platforms. Join a dynamic team where your expertise in cloud development will directly impact national security initiatives and drive technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable cloud services using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related platforms
  • Build and deploy microservices architectures for secure, high-performance government applications
  • Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven services to enable seamless integration across cloud environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and cloud solution architectures
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance with federal security standards
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or OCI DevOps
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production cloud environments under tight deadlines
  • Document technical designs, APIs, and deployment processes for team and stakeholder reference
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to proof-of-concept evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on cloud services
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go for backend cloud service development
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or comparable platforms like AWS, Azure
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle Database, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with federal security standards including FedRAMP, IL4/IL5, and NIST compliance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing for U.S. Government, Defense, or Intelligence sector applications
  • Advanced certifications such as Oracle Cloud Professional Developer or AWS Certified Developer
  • Knowledge of Oracle APEX, Oracle Integration Cloud, or Oracle Functions
  • Experience with Terraform or OCI Resource Manager for infrastructure as code
  • Prior work with secure coding practices and vulnerability scanning tools
