Position Overview

Due to rapid growth, Oracle GDI is hiring a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to serve as the technical expert for presales activities, formulating and leading support for prospective government, defense, and intelligence clients. In this role, you will architect cloud solutions using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), drive customer success through tailored demonstrations and proofs-of-concept, and ensure seamless transitions from sales to deployment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead presales technical engagements by architecting OCI-based solutions that address complex customer requirements in government and defense environments
• Design scalable, secure cloud architectures leveraging OCI services such as Autonomous Database, Kubernetes Engine, and Identity and Access Management
• Conduct workshops, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical demonstrations to showcase OCI value propositions and differentiation
• Collaborate with sales teams, partners, and customers to translate business needs into technical architectures and migration strategies
• Develop reference architectures, whitepapers, and best practices for OCI deployments in regulated industries
• Perform gap analyses and risk assessments for customer environments, recommending OCI optimizations and hybrid/multi-cloud integrations
• Support customer satisfaction post-sale by providing architectural guidance during implementation and go-live phases
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to internal knowledge sharing on emerging cloud technologies and compliance standards
• Stay abreast of competitive landscapes, feeding insights back to product teams to influence OCI roadmap enhancements
• Ensure all solutions comply with FedRAMP, IL5/IL6, and other government security standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, presales engineering, or solution consulting roles
• Deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or comparable public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proven track record of leading successful presales cycles resulting in multi-million-dollar cloud deals
• Strong understanding of government, defense, or intelligence sector requirements, including security clearances (Secret or higher preferred)
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native services, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OCI Resource Manager)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with database technologies, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Professional, OCI Foundations)
• Experience with classified environments (IL5/IL6) and compliance frameworks like NIST, CMMC, or DISA STIGs
• Background in hybrid cloud migrations and mainframe modernization to cloud
• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications or Oracle Database expertise
• Technical sales enablement experience, including content creation and partner training
